Cycle refills
A 30-day cycle starts with your first billable call; if your balance is below 30,000,000 CU at cycle end, it is refilled to 30,000,000 CU (does not accumulate).
Rate limits
All API keys under the account share an average of 25 calls per second, with short bursts allowed. Batch requests count by individual calls inside the batch, up to 25 calls per batch.
Per-key defaults
Each API key defaults to 400 CU/s (burst 1600 CU), shown in the Rate limit column of the Keys table in the console.
How balances change
Example 1: You use 25,000,000 CU in a cycle. At cycle end your balance is 5,000,000 CU, which is below 30,000,000 CU, so it is refilled to 30,000,000 CU.
Example 2: At cycle end, if your balance is already at or above 30,000,000 CU (for instance, if no calls were made or after using a reset chance), it is neither refilled nor deducted; your balance remains intact (credits do not accumulate).
Pay-as-you-go after free credits
Pay-as-you-go: 1 USD = 10,000,000 CU, minimum deposit $10. Transparent pricing across all methods, call-per-second limits are lifted on your first paid top-up, and unused free credits remain intact.

Reset chances are granted to all accounts across the platform — new and existing, free and paid — with no claim required. Each use tops your balance up to 30,000,000 CU. Each chance is valid for 30 days from when it is issued, or from sign-up for accounts created later. Cannot be used — and is not consumed — when the balance is already at or above 30,000,000 CU. The number of chances and expiry dates are shown in the console.

Who is eligible for the free plan?

What happens to unused credits?
They remain in your balance, do not expire, and are never taken back (except credit obtained in breach of the Terms, see Section 7). If your balance is below 30,000,000 CU at cycle end, it is refilled to 30,000,000 CU; if it is at or above 30,000,000 CU, it is neither refilled nor deducted. Credits do not accumulate across cycles.
What happens when credits run out?
Requests return HTTP 402 until the current cycle ends and your balance is refilled to 30,000,000 CU, or until you complete your first paid top-up.
How is 25 calls per second calculated?
This is the pooled average across all API keys under your account, with short bursts allowed. Batch requests count by individual calls inside the batch; Data API requests count as 1 call each. Free plan batch requests allow up to 25 calls per batch.
Why does my key not reach 25 calls per second?
Each key is also subject to a CU/s limit, shown in the Rate limit column of the Keys table in the console. High-weight methods (such as debug_trace*) have fewer calls per second per key.
Can I create multiple accounts with different logins to get more free credits?
No. Different login methods create separate accounts, but each individual or organization may only use one account for the free plan. Creating multiple accounts to obtain extra free credits is a violation, and such credits may be revoked (Sections 7 and 13 of the Terms).
Do I keep free credits after topping up?
Yes. After your first paid top-up, your account upgrades to a paid account, removing the calls-per-second limit. Remaining free credits carry over into your balance; paid accounts do not receive periodic cycle refills.
How do I verify credits have been issued?
Sign in to the console to check your balance and top-up history. Credits issued on sign-up are labeled as 'Sign-up grant'.
Free Plan Rules

5. Prohibited conduct
Credits obtained through conduct prohibited under Section 13 of the Terms (such as registering multiple accounts to obtain extra free credits) may be revoked upon discovery, and we may suspend or terminate associated accounts pursuant to Section 24.
6. Relationship to Terms of Service
These rules supplement the Terms of Service. Matters not covered herein are governed by the Terms of Service; in the event of any conflict, the Terms of Service prevail. Specific figures are governed by those published on this page and the Pricing page at the time.
